Three Tips for Great Pet Photographs

As pets have gradually become the furry version of children, the art of pet photography has become much more popular. Taking good photographs of your pets takes practice and perseverance Three tips for great pet photographs are good environment, good treats , and great timing.

A safe and comfortable environment is essential to any good pet picture. A pet is always going to be at its cutest when its relaxed. If the surroundings are stressful in any way, its going to make things hard on your pet and will show up on film. Consider using the backyard, a favorite park or inside your home as the backdrop. This way the pet will act the most natural. Make sure its not too hot or cold, and if your outdoors, make sure the weather is going to cooperate. A final point to consider is that the surroundings you choose are pretty and picturesque. It doesnt matter how cute your pet is if the backdrop is ugly.

Good treats are essential to keep your pets attention. Soft treats are great for dogs and cats. You could also bring their favorite toy, or even try catnip for your cat. Dont shower them with the treats all at once. Feed them slowly so that you can hold their attention as long as possible.

Finally, you must have good timing if you plan on getting any cute photographs at all. Dogs and cats can be trained to pose, but theyll look their cutest acting naturally. After you get a good posing shot with the treats, let them do their thing and catch the moment. This is especially true of animals who cant pose, like small mammals and reptiles. It helps to have a camera with a fast shutter speed and lots of memory. In the end, youre going to throw out most of the pictures before finding that perfect one.
