Why Should You Depend on Other People?

We claim to be independent, but when someone expresses dissatisfaction with your very actions, you feel stressed out and depressed. This is because you are too sensitive to the point of view of others. Someone says we are good at doing something and we feel important, useful, great and powerful, but it takes a single word of three letters (bad) to bring us down to a state of depression. The problem is that we value other people's opinions over our own. The entire "ego" may collapse if you hear a critical commentary on your actions. All of this is just because you were not fit for someone to communicate with. Your mission on this Earth is not to be loved by everyone, but to create a life that you have always dreamed of.

You may feel pride and satisfaction because of the tutor who praises you for skills and commitment. After you hear well done for a months or even less you get used to the ideas that you are incapable to make an error. And then comes a time when someone proves you wrong. Here you are, holding a paper that you were to submit and receive an "A" but the icon written in ink says "F" and there is nothing to be done about that. Your self-estimation rate falls close to zero and you stay miserable until the day comes when someone says something pleasant to you. This only proves that you are inconsistent and do not know what you want from this life yet. And if you do not know, you base your facts on opinions of others. This gets to an extent when your personal opinion does not play any role at all. You hear words of appreciation and you are on the top of the world, but once someone resorts to criticism you are brought down very quickly. You are a complete stranger to yourself and the prism that was created out of the models of other people. Since childhood you might have carried plans for the future and there can be no doubt that you have not thought about complications at all, only about future pleasant moments and possibilities. It was a sort of commitment - to do your utmost to do everything next to perfect.

Socialization depends on intersection between individuals entirely. But there are levels of commitment to the public opinion: you may listen to it, but avoid implementation into your personal affairs, or do it partially or you may take everything the majority says and build your life out of this. Your personality is hopelessly lost in the crowd that is ready to crucify anyone for a failure. The reality is harsh and there are errors and mistakes, but thousands of people move on without throwing the life to public and get governed by the crowd. Build your own ship and sail into the ocean of men with no fear and you will be granted appreciation.
